Our strategy centres on the ongoing commissioning of new Australian programmes - complementing our existing strong franchises and enhancing our audience delivery in our core young adult audience demographics.
Today, much of our programming is Australian, from drama series such as Home and Away and All Saints, to information programming including Better Homes and Gardens and The Great Outdoors, and breakthrough entertainment programmes, including Where Are They Now, Dancing with the Stars and It Takes Two.
We are further enhancing our reputation as a leading source of news and information for all Australians. Today, more than six million Australians watch our news programming every week. From Sunrise and Weekend Sunrise, to our news bulletins through the day - led by Seven News at 6:00pm and Today Tonight.
Building on our strengths in news and public affairs and Australian programming, Seven is developing an unparalleled portfolio of major sports events, including coverage of the Australian Football League, the V8 Supercars Championship and the Bathurst 1000 in 2007. Seven also will broadcast two of the biggest events in Australia: The Melbourne Cup and the Australian Open Tennis Championships. We also have long-term agreements for coverage of the Wallabies' Rugby Union test campaign, the Davis Cup and the major golf and tennis tournaments in Australia.
Our developments in news and current affairs, our focus on coverage of major sports events, and our strategies for the development and production of distinctive Australian programming underline our commitment to our core business.
